Tour Director / Tour Guide Resources
Hi Randy and Ted,
As we proceed to build the travel resources, I would like to suggest that you have a
general category that lists the following items. I use them all the time and
believe they will show up for any area you put forth for submission.   Some were
already mentioned in the Western National Parks series.
Compass American Guides
Michelin Green Books
National Geographic’s Guide to Scenic Highways and Byways
Insiders Guide Travel Series
World Almanac Library of the States-juvenile collection with concise
information-everything you want to know quickly--one for each state
America the Beautiful Series by Scholastic--juvenile collection--one for
each state
In addition to the above for New England, these are CD/DVD resources I have found
useful when touring the area. I purchased these at attraction gift shops but they
can be purchased from the web sites listed.
Ain’t He Some Funny! - The Best of John McDonald--Classic Down East
Humor--CD-available at www.islandportpress.com
Pure Vermont Maple :Â A Proud Tradition-DVD-available at
www.perceptionsvermont.com
Cape Cod National Seashore-four NPS films: Sands of Time, Wooden Ships and
Men of Iron, Thoreau’s Cape Cod and The Voice of Cape Cod--DVD-from the National
Park Series-available at www.finlay-holiday.com
The Final Voyage of the Ticonderoga-DVD-sidewheel steamboat that sailed
Lake Champlain and is land docked at the Shelbrune Museum--Shelbrune, VT-available
at www.vpt.org
Moose Tunes for Kids sung by Brent Holmes & Marty the Moose-CD for ages
1-101-available at www.Amazon.com
The Old Man…A New Perspective -CD-Anyone visiting Franconia Notch would
enjoy the story told through the eyes of two hikers as the actual old man on the
mountain collapsed May 2003. I purchased it at Franconia Notch SP Gift Shop. It
was produced by Alaview Music Company.
 Enjoy
